“Why should I use billboards?”
As a manager of an advertising budget, your objective is to generate the most revenue for your company per dollar spent on advertising. That can be a very challenging task with which we are all familiar.

If there was one full-proof media channel that everyone could use to accomplish that, we would all be using it, wouldn’t we? But, unfortunately, there is not. There is, however, one thing as advertisers we all know...

“Effective advertising is not completely about the media channel, it is about the message.”

It is fairly clear which message would generate more activity if both were displayed on the Interstate.

FACT: Billboards are visible to hundreds of thousands of commuters each day in large cities.

FACT: Billboards are more cost-effective than other media channels.

  • Billboards have an average cost per thousand exposures (cpm) of $2.
  • Television ads have an average cpm of $12.
  • Radio ads have an average cpm of $9.
  • Newspaper ads have an average cpm of $5.

RESULT: If you create the right message, your billboard WILL work; and if your billboard works, you will have spent less money than with other media channels for a similar result. So, why shouldn’t you use billboards?
